Hadyjat is a driving force behind African outreach activities, with a lifelong commitment to empowering women in Cameroon, particularly in rural communities. After a career as a bank cashier, handling operations for companies exporting African botanicals, and running her own business, she has focused on addressing critical development needs. Her efforts include improving access to clean water, supporting educational initiatives, and providing coaching for financing for women-led small businesses. In 1994, she founded an association called SEPTENTRION for women from three northern provinces of Cameroon, aimed at offering support and assistance. This initiative enabled training programs on family care, child education, and practical skills such as sewing, embroidery, cooking, and small business management—all designed to foster women’s autonomy. It also created a space to exchange recipes and household management tips, ultimately contributing to the financial independence of its members.
Through her hands-on approach and unwavering dedication, She has positively impacted the lives of many women, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive socially and economically. Hadyjat is enjoying her retirement by actively contributing to developing young girls through mentorship and participation in local women’s associations that focus on gender equity and youth empowerment. Her engagement also extends to the agricultural and livestock sectors, where she has worked to ensure food security and meet the essential nutritional needs of local populations. Her holistic approach combines economic empowerment with community resilience, positioning her as a key player in grassroots development.
